I’ve literally been waiting over a year (!!!) to write this Magic Monday, because this cozy little tool called Spirit City that I use all the time is fiiiiiinally available for Mac!

If you haven’t heard of Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, it’s kind of like a magical video game that helps you get things done. You create your own avatar, set up your space with decor and ambience, do little activities, and earn points – but at its core, it’s a productivity app with a magical theme.

Here’s what you can do inside:

• Create and customize your character with super cute outfits, hairdos, and features.
• Decorate your furniture, walls, window view, lighting, even your drinks!
• Track your tasks and use a built-in Pomodoro timer.
• Add notes and daily to-dos.
• Choose your background music or sounds (cat purring, rain, typing sounds, white noise, etc.).
• Choose your time of day (sunrise, night, afternoon, etc.).
• Adopt little pets that sit on your desk while you work.
• Do activities like typing, gaming, sketching, meditating, or even daydreaming.
• And they recently added a kitchen, so now you can cook too!

I’ve written before about how much I love FocusMate for accountability. Spirit City is like a magical, digital version of FocusMate!

Until now, it’s only been available for Windows. I actually figured out a complicated way to run it on my Mac last year (very chaotic, very not worth explaining 😅), but I’ve been patiently waiting for the day I could share it in a Magic Monday so everyone can try it. And they just released it for Mac last week on Steam! Wahooo!

So thankfully, Spirit City is now on Steam for both Mac AND PC! If you want a way to make your workday feel a little more productive, yet gamified, I really think you’ll love it.
