Drink Mugwort Tea To Aid Sleep And Enhance Dreams
Let’s talk about sleep… There are many factors that determine the quality of your sleep: stress, seasons, the moon, screen time, overall health, etc. For many years, I had so much trouble falling asleep, and also staying asleep. No matter what I tried, nothing seemed to help. But once I started diving into dreamwork and reading lucid dreaming books, I was able to notice patterns of when I slept well vs. slept horribly. Tracking my sleep/dreams allowed me to see that my high level of stress and my (lack of a) nighttime routine directly impacted my quality of sleep. So in 2016, I removed the TV from my bedroom and also started drinking Mugwort tea every night. Full night’s rest and lucid dreams quickly followed.
If you haven’t been sleeping well (and don’t want to rely on melatonin), I’d love to recommend the natural remedy that is Mugwort. One of the best parts of Mugwort is that it enhances dreams.
Mugwort has been used for thousands of years by many cultures – it is known as the ‘dream sage.’
Mugwort is a part of the Artemisia genus – and the name Artemis comes from the Greek Goddess of the moon. This is why Mugwort is also known to help with women’s menstrual cycles.
Other benefits of Mugwort:
- Relieves stress
- Boosts energy
- Relieves headaches
- Improves memory
I have been drinking Mugwort tea for years now and I can attest that Mugwort will make you sleepy, and your dreams more memorable! I recommend drinking a mug of Mugwort before bed, with a teaspoon of honey, and slowly drift into a blissful night’s sleep.
Sweet dreams!

ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Greetings from Hanoi! Ninh and I came up to Hanoi to attend his cousin’s wedding. I’ve been to so so many weddings, but experiencing my first Vietnamese wedding was WILD! It was so special to be a part of it and witness so many unique traditions and customs.
It started off with the intimate ceremony with about 30-40 people. Then, it moved into a massive reception at the gorgeous Marriott, with over 900 people!! I couldn’t believe it. There were speeches, videos, and more formalities – followed by a delicious 9-course meal. I was surprised by a variety of things that I’m not used to at weddings – I’m tempted to record a new podcast and share the entire experience, because it’s impossible to sum up in a couple of paragraphs. I will say, one of the biggest surprises to me was how many women were wearing white dresses!
The whole experience was a great reminder of the differences in cultures and their traditions – what I grew up with is not the only way! Yet, even though there were many differences, all of the traditions centered around one commonality: LOVE.
With lots of love from Vietnam,
Andrea
