Find Extra Motivation By Taking Yourself On A Hobbit Girl Walk
Ahhh, I’ve been waiting for Spring to share this creative idea! I came across this video where a woman named Samantha started a “Hobbit Girl Walk” movement with all of her followers. She knew she wanted to walk more, and adding a Lord of the Rings theme made her extra motivated to get outside. She went as far as dressing up as a hobbit and tracking the distances of her walks along the map of Middle Earth. 🧙🏼♀️
So if the weather is warm enough now where you are and you want to start walking a bit more, definitely consider adding a theme that will make your walks a bit more fun. Do you have to wear full hobbit costume? Definitely not! I think what elevates these walks is embodying the theme. So mentally pretending you’re on a mission – as if you’re walking to Modor. You can add some theme music, wear a braid like Legolas, take a snack and pretend it’s Elven lembas…maybe even wear a gold ring on your necklace each time you walk – you get the idea!
I’m definitely a Lord of the Rings fan, but I’ll be honest, I live and breathe Harry Potter. So I’ve actually taken this Hobbit Girl Walk idea and twisted it into a Witch Girl Walk. So when I go on my walks in Vietnam, I pretend I’m on a long walk to find a horcrux while listening to Harry Potter music (for some reason, the song Statues makes me feel like I’m on an epic mission). The horcrux at the end of my walk is usually a pastry at Torino’s bakery that I must destroy in order to save the world… 😂
It sounds silly…let’s be real, it IS silly! But sometimes adding a little flair to your walks can bring an extra pep to your step. You can choose any theme you want and it improves your mood while on your walks! Use your imagination – it’ll take you further than you think.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
GANDALF
ON A PERSONAL NOTE
NINH IS BACK!!! After a month and a half of long distance, Ninh came back to Da Nang and my heart is so happy! We’ll be here for another week and then go up to Hanoi for a few days. And then I officially fly to America on the 22nd! What a whirlwind. I’m so excited to visit home for a bit – but not crazy at being long-distance again. But we all know how fast time flies, so I make sure to embrace every single day.
It’s surreal thinking about leaving Da Nang again. Ninh and I lived here during the pandemic and we fell in love with this city and our apartment building. Then I had to go back to the States because Vietnam was no longer extending visas. After about a year and a half of being in the States and living in various countries in Europe, we came back to Da Nang and our same apartment. It’s been so amazing being back because the lifestyle here is so wonderful. But it’s a bit like deja vu – there are only one-month visas, so it’s just not sustainable to do visa runs every 30 days. So we both feel it’s time to move into the next chapter of our story. Ready for the next adventure!
