Taking a Pause & Filling Up Your Mental Bubble Bath With What You Need

Hello from Vietnam!! Wow wow wow. What a whirlwind the past week has been! I didn’t send a Magic Monday last week because Ninh and I were on a 24-hour journey back to our favorite place: Da Nang, Vietnam. πŸ™‚ Since we’ve landed, we have been running around, catching up with friends, getting all the things we need for our apartment, and getting all set up. It’s quite the process…but I am BEYOND excited to be back in Vietnam! πŸ‡»πŸ‡³

Since it’s been so busy and now I’m in the process of catching up with client work, I’ll be honest, my mind got a little overwhelmed. Even though I’m so happy to be back, my head is still spinning from the change in timezones, cultures, routines, etc. Today was my first day back, diving into work again, and my to-do list just kept growing and growing (I even wondered if I should write this newsletter!).

So I took my own advice (doing my best to practice what I teach! πŸ˜‚)… I took a pause, sat on my bed, and listened to a meditation that I happened to write over a year ago. I imagined myself stepping into a warm bubble bath, and poured in magical potions of what I needed to calm my mind (balance, grounding, time, etc.). I visualized myself pouring these elixirs into my mental bubble bath, and then I could feel myself finally relax. My mind slowed wayyyyy down. It was like I was bending time. πŸ›

When my meditation ended, I felt so much calmer. And here I am now, listening to some ambience music and writing this newsletter without the chaos and clutter that filled my brain 15 minutes ago.

So if you’re ever finding yourself overwhelmed or too busy, take a moment for yourself and give your mind a bubble bath. Take a listen on Insight Timer – or if you don’t want listen to a meditation, you can take a mini pause and follow these steps mentally. I promise this mental bubble bath will help! 🫧

β€œEvery hour of your life that ticks by, there are numerous points and moments when you can choose to pause – and be aware of your mental and physical state. At any given point, you can freeze the flow that is your life, and be fully conscious for a moment.”

I can’t even express how happy I am to be back in Da Nang!!! It is quite the shock to go from Bulgaria to Vietnam – from the cold to the warmth (in more ways than one πŸ˜‰). It’s amazing to be able to order food or quality coffee and have it at your door within minutes, for less than $2. Hallelujah! More than the ease and the lifestyle, it’s also amazing to be back to see old friends and visit our favorite restaurants/businesses and their owners. The community here truly is incredible.

Ninh and I have pretty much settled into our apartment and are creating our routine. I can’t tell you how nice it is moving into a place, knowing you can stay longer than 3 months! Makes a big difference, that’s for sure. So…if you are wanting to go on a nice vacay, put Da Nang on your list! I’d be happy to be your tour guide. πŸ˜‰

Off to the beach! πŸŒ… Sending you so much love and sunshine your way!
