Use Anchors To Quickly Transport You To Desired Mindset

If you want to feel a certain way, try using an ‘anchor.’ It’s something we subconsciously do already – but when we are even more aware of this technique, it can be a lot stronger. Using an anchor means setting up a stimulus response pattern so that you can feel the way you want to, when you need to (think Pavlov’s Bell). They’re essentially quick reminders that can quickly transport us to desired states of mind.

Say you want to feel more confident, you can create an anchor by attaching that feeling to a specific lipstick you wear. Then, any time you wear that lipstick, you’ll consciously (and subconsciously) feel more confident. You can do this with tangible objects, or even physical touch. Say you want to feel more calm throughout your day; create an anchor where you touch your thumb and pointer finger together. You can periodically do this during your day, and it will immediately send a signal to pause and revisit that calm feeling.

This is why I love bracelets! Each bracelet I have represents a different feeling, and whenever I consciously pay attention to them, they remind me of these feelings. My favorite is my white howlite bracelet that represents a calm mind. White howlite has tiny dark lines on the white stones, and I was told that the lines represent our thoughts. When we’re overthinking, we should honor these thoughts, and then we let them go (instead of avoid them). Do I still overthink? Absolutely. But this bracelet is an important anchor for me, because I’m a frequent over-thinker and when I see my howlite, I notice my mind calm down a bit.

Other Anchor Ideas:

  • Crystals
  • Pendants
  • Specific word
  • Jewelry
  • Phone reminders
  • Scents
  • Songs
  • Yoga pose

The list goes on… I think you get the idea! By using anchors, we create pathways to intentionally navigate our emotions, reactions, and mindset, shaping a more empowered and mindful existence. Just like magic… ✨

Do you have any anchors that you love??

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Well, hello!! Happy magical Monday! I wanted to share that last week was a very productive week for Dream Life Connection. Not only did I relaunch my podcast and re-enter the social media world – I also worked so hard on getting all of my past Magic Monday tricks off of the (not-so-intuitive) Notion spreadsheet and onto my website. I’m extremely proud of the new Archive – it’s all the same content, just easier to look through (and looks a bit better, if I’m being honest). 😊 So be sure to check it out!

I hope you all have a magical week ahead. Never forget how brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous you are! XOXOXO

With love,

Andrea
